The writ had been filed by advocate Bipin Dhakal, who challenged the neutrality of commission chair Gauri Bahadur Karki, citing his past public remarks. Former AIG Gyanraj Sharma and Bishweshwar Prasad Bhandari are also members of the commission.

While rejecting the petition, the bench also issued some directive observations, according to Supreme Court sources.

Earlier, on October 26, a joint bench of Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Abdul Aziz Musalman had issued a show-cause order in the case, seeking clarification from the respondents.
