Satdobato, Shree Kumari promoted to B Div

KATHMANDU, Sept 5: Satdobato Youth Club and Shree Kumari Club have been promoted to the Martyrs Memorial B Division League as they registered two consecutive wins in the super league round of the ongoing Martyrs Memorial Red Bull C Division League.



This is the first time that the two teams have been promoted. [break]



Shree Kumari defeated Samaj Kalyan Khelkud Kendra 2-1 and Satdobato beat Khumaltar 1-0 on Monday during the super league matches played at ANFA Technical Center, Chyasal.



Kailash Rai and Prakash Bhujel scored a goal each for Shree Kumari while Bibek Pradhan scored a goal for Samaj Kalyan. Likewise, Jyoti Khadka scored the lone goal in the second match for Satdobato.



Satdobato has 18 points and top position in the league table while Shree Kumari has 16 points and stands second in the league table. The C division champion will be decided after the super league match between Satdobato and Shree Kumari on Wednesday.



Samaj Kalyan and Khumaltar have 12 points each and they have also qualified for the C Division National League but failed to get promotion to the B division.



Presidents of both the clubs expressed delight on the promotion but said they will not make a hurry for a promotion to the A division. “We should look for sustainable economic resources to play on the top. Thus, we´ll focus on developing local players in years to come,” said Satdobato President Babu Kaji Maharjan. Satdobato club was established 11 years ago.







“We are not in a hurry. We´ll also focus on developing players and start looking for sustainable resources for the club,” said Mohan Basnet, president of Shree Kumari Club. The club was established on 2042 BS.



Star, Gyan Bhairab win



Meanwhile, Star Club and Gyan Bhairab Club won respective matches in the ongoing Martyrs Memorial Red Bull B Division League on Monday. Star Club thrashed Kumari Youth Club 3-0 at the National Police Training Academy, Maharajgunj. Rajesh Kumar Das scored two goals while Nirmal Dura added a goal for the winning side.



Likewise, Gyan Bhairab Club defeated Sano Gaucharan Club 1-0 as Narendra Lama scored the decider in the 89th minute of the match.
