Sangraula, Bhattarai winner of 'RSS journalism award'

KATHMANDU, Feb. 12: This year´s ´RSS Journalism Award´, established by the RSS chapter of Federation of Nepali Journalists, will be conferred on RSS´s senior executive editor of Nepali News Desk Sarala Sangraula and executive editor of International Desk Tirtha Prasad Bhattarai.[break]



The duo will be honoured with the award that carries a purse of Rs. 10,000 each and appreciation letters on golden jubilee of RSS on Feb. 19.



Earlier, the RSS FNJ chapter used to be honor only one person with the award.



However, the chapter decided to award two persons from this year.



The chapter, holding a meeting, made a decision to award RSS Rapti zonal correspondent Narayani Rajaure with "RSS Dedicated Journalist Award".



The award has a cash prize of Rs. 5,000.



Likewise, it also agreed to honour former editor Ishwor Man Singh.



 "Umakanta-Geetadevi-Chandramani Journalism Award", also being provided by the RSS chapter yearly, will be conferred on RSS Kalikot district correspondent Rupendra Yedi.



The award carries a purse of Rs. 5,000 and an appreciation letter.



The chapter had formed a five-member award selection committee under the coordination of senior executive editor Shree Ram Singh.



Former President of RSS FNJ chapter Krishna Kumar Budhathoki, outgoing President Narayan Prasad Neupane, new President Surya Chandra Basnet and Secretary Dilip Adhikari were the member of the committee.
