Sajha Yatayat is to restart is services on a modest scale, initially with the aim of relieving traffic congestion in the trunk routes of Kathmandu-Lalitpur sector.
"Our goal is to increase urban bus ridership so that the public benefits, pollution is reduced, and bus operators are able to emerge as central players in urban transport", said Kanak Mani Dixit, Chairman of the cooperative bus company.
According to a press release issued by the Cooperatives here today, the buses of Euro II emission standard have 54 seats and an additional 15 strap-hanger capacity.
After the collapse of the Sajha Yatayat in 2002, the company was stabilized as a cooperative in 2011.
