RSP’s Biraj Bhakta Shrestha secures landslide victory from Kathmandu-8

KATHMANDU, March 6: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Biraj Bhakta Shrestha secured a landslide win from Kathmandu-8, securing 24,592 votes, according to the Election Commission.



His closest rival was Nepali Communist Party candidate Suman Sayami, who received 3,217 votes. Similarly, Nepali Congress candidate Sapana Raj Bhandari secured 2,835 votes, finishing in third position.

Similarly, CPN-UML’s Rajesh Shakya received 1,909 votes, and Rastriya Prajatantra Party candidate Nabeen Shahi also received 1,909 votes.


He was also elected from the same constituency in the 2022 election. He had also served as the Minister for Youth and Sports for a short time.
