Rs 140,000 each to families of deceased

KATHMANDU, July 30: The government has decided to provide Rs 140,000 each in cash relief to the families of those who were killed in the landslides in Kaski, Myagdi, Baglung, and Chitwan districts on Thursday.



A cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Thursday decided to provide Rs 100,000 as financial support and Rs 40,000 as funeral rites to the families of those killed in the landslides in the four districts.

The local authorities in the districts have confirmed that 31 people died in the landslides in four districts. Minister for General Administration Lal Babu Pandit said the cabinet decided to provide the landslide victims an amount equal to cash relief provided to the April 25 earthquake victims.


"The cabinet has directed the concerned ministry to release Rs 15,000 as immediate relief to the deceased families," he said.
