Speaking in the Second Convention of the party´s Kathmandu Metropolitan City chapter here on Saturday, the speakers referred to the late Krishna Prasad Bhattarai functioning as the chief of the Legislature, the Executive and the Judiciary when he went on to become the Prime Minister in 1990, and scoffed at the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML for their argument that the incumbent Chief Justice could not head the election government.
Opening the Convention, party president Kamal Thapa claimed that the corrupt and power-hungry leaders of the four major parties could not hold the election.
He called for constituting an election government under the ledership of the Chief Justice for ensuring a free, fair and credible election.
Other senior leaders of the party speaking on the occasion said that it has been 14 years since the parliamentary elections have been held and 16 years since the local elections have been held in the country.
