RPP President Pashupati SJB Rana, who is in Surkhet for party unification with Rastriya Janashakti Party (RJP), said the state restructuring should be done keeping the availability of natural resources and economic viability. [break]
Speaking to the media persons in Surkhet on Wednesday, President Rana said “We won´t accept federalism based on ethnicity as proposed by UCPN (Maoist). State restructuring based on ethnicity will lead to disintegration of the nation.”

He informed that his party has floated the concept of seven states--Mechi-Koshi, Janak, Bagmati, Gandaki, Bheri-Rapti, Seti-Mahakali and Karanali--and 19 sub-states.
The sub-states proposed by RPP are Kanchanjunga, Makalu, Birat, Sagarmatha, Mithila, Bhojpur, Kantipuri, Gaurisankhar, Trishuli, Annapurna, Muktinath, Lumbini, Swargadwari, Sisne, Dullu, Rapti, Ghodaghodi, Mahakali and Khaptad.
Meanwhile, RPP stressed on the provision of elected prime minister and president from parliament.
