Robbers clash with police

BIRATNAGAR, Jan 24: Armed robbers managed to loot villagers and get away with their booty despite a fierce exchange of gunfire with the police in Siswani Jadaha of Morang district Saturday night. There was no casualty in the gunfire though.



DSP Rewati Dhakal said police fired seven rounds of bullets at the robbers. “Police reached the village after being informed that armed robbers were carrying out robbery after surrounding the village,” he said. The robbers fled after the exchange of gunfire with the police.



The robbers made away with valuables worth Rs 100,000 from the house of Ram Sharan Singh, a resident of Siswani Jadaha-1 before the police reinforcements could reach the village.
