Traffic Police Inspector Shiva Pokhrel said some 70 huts were demolished that were constructed by encroaching upon the roads. [break]
Pokhrel said three bulldozers and two tippers have been used to demolish the illegally constructed huts and walls.
The road widening drive is expected to continue the whole day today.
Officials of Kathmandu Metropolis and Department of Roads, locals, traffic police personnel and representatives of local organizations are present in the road expansion drive.
