The tournament features the bottom four teams of the Red Bull A Division Regional League -- two teams each from groups A and B -- held some months ago. [break]
Two A division football districts whose teams finish third and fourth in the tournament will be relegated to B division.
The tournament will be held in round-robin format.
In Monday´s inaugural match, NFC of Chitwan defeated Bijay Sports Club of Kailali 3-0. Sony Shrestha netted twice for NFC and Bijay Khadgi added another.
In another match, Saubhagya Yuva Club of Rupandehi thumped Diamond Yuva Club of Parsa 5-2. Prakash Gurung completed a hat-trick for the winning side while Som Lama and Khem Pun added a goal each. Kaji Chaudhary and Ashok Raut scored for Diamond.
Meanwhile, Syangja and Siraha have been promoted to A division as teams from those districts -- Trinity and Kasturi -- finished first and second in the B Division Regional League.
