KATHMANDU, July 28: Home Minister Bhim Rawal requested all parties to support the implementation of the special security plan to ensure peace in the country.

Minister Rawal made the request while answering queries of lawmakers during a meeting of the State Affairs Committee of the Legislature Parliament on Tuesday.

The plan, approved by the government’s political committee on Sunday, is being implemented in 15 Tarai districts, three districts of the Kathmandu Valley and a few hilly districts in eastern and mid-western region.

“The plan is to restore peace and security in the districts marred by criminal activities,” Rawal told the committee. “So, I request all party not to see it through political lens and support its implementation.”

Minister Rawal also stated that the ministry has identified 105 armed groups among which 95 percent are criminal groups.

He added that the government will not tolerate any act undermining national integrity and sovereignty.

The meeting was attended by 21 lawmakers of the committee, security chiefs and officials from Home Ministry.
