Rana in lead but fails to equal her record

KATHMANDU, Aug 17: Sneha Rana of Central Region faile to equal her national record of 399 points in 10 meter air rifle on Wednesday during the preliminary round of the 17th Men´s and 16th Women´s National Shooting Championship held at the Satdobato shooting range.



However, the national record holder took the lead in the women´s event on the second day of the championship scoring 388 points out of 400 points. Durga Sinjali of Nepal Police has scored 370 points while Culin Rana of Central Region has 368 points in her kitty. [break]



In women´s 10 meter air pistol, Sarita Basnet of Nepal Army has scored 333 points from 400. Sima Chaudhary of Nepal Police has 322 points while Madhavi Shrestha of Mid-western Region has 312 points.



In men´s 10 meter air pistol, Sudan Khadka of Nepal Army has scored 546 out of 600 points. Arshad Khan of Mid-western Region and Suroj Bikram Shahi of Central Region have earned 527 and 523 points respectively.



Similarly, Hari Bahadur Thapa of Nepal Police has scored 541 points out of 600 in men´s 10 meter air rifle. Krishna Ghorasaini of Nepal Army and Samyog Krishna Shrestha of Mid-western Region have scored 538 and 534 points respectively.
