Electing to bat first, Birgunj put up 213 runs losing seven wickets in the limited 40 overs at the TU Cricket Ground. Opening the batting Rahul and his partner Chakra Prakash provided a 123-run first wicket partnership for Birgunj. Chakra contributed 60 runs while Rahul scored 53 runs. Dipendra Chand, who showed the pavilion´s way to both the openers, took four wickets for Baitadi.
Chasing a huge total, Baitadi were rattled by man-of the-match Rahul´s charismatic bowling figure of 6-18 in 7.1 overs along with one maiden. Baitadi were all out for 178 runs in 39.1 overs. Yuddha Bikram Chand (42) and Sameer Nagarkoti (36) tried to anchor Baitadi´s innings but they failed. Mustakim Miya took two wickets while Avinash Karna took one.
Birgunj have four points and second position in the league table where Region-4 Bhairahawa have equal points but a higher net run rate to top the chart.
Bhairahawa achieved their second consecutive victory of the tournament, where they defeated Region-1 Biratnagar by 122 runs. This was the second consecutive loss for Biratnagar. Bhairahawa piled up 177 runs losing all their wickets in the completion of the 39th over in the match played at the IOE Cricket Ground. Kiran Panday (49) was the highest run getter for Bhairahawa.
In reply, Biratnagar were all out for a mere 55 runs in 20.4 overs. Four batsmen were out for duck during the innings. Rimesh Regmi (16) was the only batsman to reach double figure for Biratnagar.
Navin Shrestha, who took four wickets to unsettle Biratnagar, was awarded man of the match.
