The government's decision came to this effect following the massive loss of lives and property caused by the April 25 devastating earthquake.
Speaking at an interaction organized by Reporters' Club Nepal in the capital on Tuesday, Minister for Industry Mahesh Basnet said the government has decided to utilize government and public land for the rehabilitation of the earthquake victims.
He further said that the Ministry of Home Affairs is making a preparation to distribute identity cards and relief materials to the genuine victims.
With rescue and relief works coming to a final stage, the government is now focusing on the rehabilitation, reinstatement and reconstruction works, said Minister Basnet. "Rehabilitation is the most essential work at this time around and the time now is to muster mettle through transformation of grief.
Of the total 1,500,000 zinc sheets required for now, the zinc industries in Nepal can manufacture only 13,000 bundles day, informed Basnet.
