During a meeting with Acting Chief Election Commissioner Dolakh Bahadur Gurung and Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav on Sunday at his office in Shital Niwas, the president expressed dissatisfaction over the political parties´ indifference on the issue.[break]
"The president expressed his grave concerns over the delay in appointment to the vacant posts," Yadav told Republica.
Gurung and Yadav also expressed concerns over the vacant positions at the constitutional body.
EC will remain without any commissioner as both Gurung and Yadav will retire on Wednesday.
"We expressed our concerns as EC will remain without any commissioner following our retirement," Yadav told Republica.
Commissioner Yadav pens book on voter registration
Commissioner Yadav has penned a book on voter registration system in the country.
Vice-president Paramananda Jha on Sunday unveiled the book titled "Voters´ Registration System in Nepal" amid a function at the EC office in the capital.
Yadav said he has tried to accommodate all figures and facts relating to voter registration in the country. "The book sheds light on legal and constitutional aspects of voter registration in the country," Yadav added.
He stated that the book also dwells on the trends and problems relating to voter registration.
Vice-president Jha termed the book a historic document on voter registration in the country.
