President Yadav calls on Indian President

KATHMANDU, Dec. 26: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, who is presently on an official visit to India, held talks with his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukharjee at the Rastrapati Bhawan, New Delhi on Wednesday.



During the meeting, matters relating to bilateral cooperation and mutual interest were discussed, it is learnt.



The President is learnt to have extended an invitation to his Indian counterpart for Nepal visit and in response, the Indian President expressed his wish to visit Nepal at a suitable time in the near future.



In response to a query by the Indian President about the ongoing political situation in Nepal, President Dr Yadav shared that he has called the political parties to come to a consensus as quickly as possible so as to ensure new elections to the CA within mid-May.



Similarly, Minister of External Affairs of India Salman Khursid called on President Dr Yadav and held discussions on various aspects of Nepal-India relations.



President Dr Yadav left here for his India visit on Monday and is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on December 29, Saturday
