Talking to media persons at the party headquarters in Paris Danda today, the UCPN (Maoist) spokesperson said CA elections were possible within first or second week of June if the opposition parties were ready for consensus. [break]
"The UCPN (Maoist) is ready to form an election government under the leadership of an independent figure. The opposition parties also should be ready in this agenda," spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota said.
Sapkota said at active participant of the People´s Movement-II and having no partisan affiliation as well as accepting the agendas of republic, federalism, secularism and other progressive issues could be the new prime minister.
Asked what message would be delivered while forming an election government under the independent figure, the UCPN (Maoist) spokesperson said, "It does not mean that political parties failed to pick a prime ministerial candidate from within the parties as the government will also function based on political parties´ consensus and coordination,"
He also said that the Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) were trying to disturb the Maoists´ upcoming general convention and were obstructing roads by falling trees and pelting stones on the leadership. "This has shown the real face of their democracy," Sapkota said.
He also accused the opposition parties of moving ahead to fascist character and added that the UCPN (Maoist) also would counter by showing its strength.
"The political party that joined the peaceful politics from insurgency has known what it should to do others if the oppositions did not admit this," Sapkota warned.
The opposition leaders tried to foil party´s convention in Dailekh, invited clash in Dolakha and mocked the democracy by obstructing vehicular movements in Bhakatapur while the Maoist leaders were heading to attend the party´s program today, Sapkota said.
He also urged the rights activists not to risk the peace process with the support from ´dollars´ in the name of human rights. On the occasion, the UCPN (Maoist) leader also said that there was no cause to issue threat to the journalists in Dailekh.
He also urged the journalists to keep in mind their professional norms and ethic, and not to twist the incident.
