KATHMANDU, Aug 2: At a time when the government has banned the supply and sale of  poultry products in the capital following a recent outbreak of bird flu, police on Friday seized 18,000 eggs while being supplied to the market in Kathmandu

The eggs were seized from a private delivery van. Police said a sample has been sent to the lab and added the eggs will be destroyed if bird flu virus is confirmed. Nepal banned the supply and sale of poultry products in the capital after health workers found cases of bird flu at several poultry farms on the outskirts of the capital on Thursday last week.
