Pokhreli locals in 'symbolic protest' for airport

POKHARA, Aug. 29: The Airport Construction Concerned Committee continued its relay hunger strike for the seventh consecutive day, on Wednesday, against the alleged dillydallying of the authorities concerned and plotting of conspiracies against the construction of the international level regional airport here.



Local residents of Pokhara gathered at the ground barricaded to construct the regional airport and dug it out to exert pressure to the government for constructing the international level airport.[break]



The scene of local peoples arriving to the proposed site from Pokhara Sub-metropolis Ward No. 6 and 7, carrying domestic weapons and digging the ground as part of their protest was exciting.



Large numbers of people gathered and dug the wasteland with their domestic agricultural tools as part of the protest.
