KATHMANDU, April 1: The country has recorded above-average rainfall so far during the pre-monsoon period this year.
According to Meteorologist Binu Maharjan at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, around 29.5 per cent of the rain has already occurred so far. In general, 20 per cent of rainfall occurs during this period.

The pre-monsoon period runs from February to May. Usually, around 226 millimeters of rainfall occurs during the pre-monsoon period but 77.5 millimeters has already fallen till March 31.
Maharjan added that the weather across the country will remain generally fair on Thursday, while rainfall is likely to take place from Friday.
