PM's remark about prez irresponsible: NC leader Singh

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Prakash Man Singh, has said public statement made by Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai on President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav is utterly irresponsible.



Concluding the Babin Bikram Bista Memorial Badminton Open Running Shield Competition organized by the Kingkong Sports Club, Mid-Baneshwor, from September 22, here Tuesday, Singh emphasized that the view expressed by the President for the resolution of crises should not been politicized. [break]



Stating that the initiative taken by President Dr. Yadav was positive and this has made political parties responsible for consensus, he said the UCPN-Maoist could not be responsible in forging national consensus.



Stressing on the need of concluding the disputed issues of the constitution through referendum, Singh said there is no alternative to going for election in the end whatever consensus was forged among political parties.



He stressed on the need of ending political and constitutional crisis of the country by the president taking rightful move as a protector of the constitution if initiatives of political parties could not helpful to give an outlet to the country.



The Competition was organized in memory of Bista, a national player of Badminton, where various 31 teams had participated, according to Chairman of the organizing committee, Rajesh Swanr.
