SAPTARI, June 5: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Upendra Yadav has said Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal will not resign until a base for national consensus government was prepared.

Speaking at a press meet Sunday morning in Rajbiraj, Yadav said the country will fall into further crisis if the PM resigns without a ground for national government. [break]

Referring to the Madhav Nepal-led government that remained as a caretaker government for seven months, Yadav said a caretaker government should not remain for a long period in the country.

Stressing for the implementation of the five-point deal signed on May 29, he said the parties should be honest to implement the consensus.

Saying there is no alternative to the consensus government, he added the intra-party rift was the main hindrance for national consensus.

He also blamed that the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum, Nepal, was split so as to sabotage the agendas of federalism, republic and agendas of the Madhes. He also made clear that his party was not involved in the front of the Madhes-based parties as they were power centered.

He said tasks of the army integration and writing constitution should be forwarded simultaneously and added that the constitution can be promulgated in three months if consensus was forged among the parties as almost 90 per cent works of the constitution writing expect the electoral system, form of the government and state restructuring have been completed.
