PM meets NC president at his residence

KATHMANDU, April 28: Nepali Congress has asked the government not to bring the budget before May 28- the stipulated deadline to promulgate a new constitution.



During a meeting held between the Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal and the NC President Sushil Koirala at the latter’s residence in Maharajgunj, on Thursday morning, Koirala asked PM Khanal to focus on concluding ongoing peace and constitution drafting process. [break]



Koirala stressed the need to focus on the peace and constitution process. Speaking with the media persons, after emerging from the meeting, Khanal said that the issues related to peace and constitution drafting process, budget and other random issues were discussed between the two leaders.



Khanal further added that he also mentioned the need to bring the new budget to Koirala and held a discussion on the matter.



A delegation of the parties that are not in the government are schedule to meet the Prime Minister Thursday afternoon to formally ask him not to bring out the new budget before May 28. They are expected to give a memorandum to the PM in this regard.
