KATHMANDU, April 9: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and Constituent Assembly Chairman Subash Chandra Nembang held a meeting on expediting the ongoing and constitution drafting processes.

At the meeting held at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Monday, the PM told the CA chair that the three-party meetings scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday will settle disputed issues surrounding the constitution writing process. [break]

At the meeting, Bhattarai also informed Nembang that works related to the army integration process are being carried out as per the work plan agreed earlier.

The PM also stressed that political leaders should be cautious in dealing with the situation, arguing that regressive forces could be active, with the little time now remaining for promulgation of the new statute.

The meeting also dwelt on the formation of a truth and reconciliation commission and a commission for inquiry into forced disappearances during the armed conflict.
