PM at Addu town in Maldives

KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has arrived in Addu City of the Maldives on Wednesday in connection with participating in the 17 Th summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).



PM Dr. Bhattarai was welcomed by President of the Maldives and current SAARC Chairman Mohamed Nasheed at the Gan International Airport.[break]



Present at the airport to welcome Dr. Bhattarai were senior officers of the Maldivian foreign ministry, acting Foreign Secretary Durga Prasad Bhattarai, and Ministry’s SAARC Department Chief Bharat Paudel, and SAARC Director Niranjan Man Singh Basnet.



The prime minister is to unveil a Nepal monument in the town this afternoon.



Likewise, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to meet US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Robert Blake, this evening.
