“I have always loved singing and I have been singing professionally for almost six years now,” says Thulung, adding that even after she joined APF three years ago she gave continuity to her singing career. “And my seniors at APF have been very supportive regarding it,” says Thulung who decided to join the APF because a government job meant long term security and also because many members of her family were a part of the police force and the army.
“So I’m, in my own way, giving continuity to the family legacy of sorts,” she says. Thulung lives in Jorpati with her family and her daily commute to Halchowk and then to Durbar Marg leaves her in constant state of weariness. But Thulung is determined to give it her best shot and excel at both her jobs. “I want to fight for the officer position in the future, and also polish my singing skills over time,” she says.
She confesses that there are moments when she’s tormented by the past but juggling two careers hardly gives her the time to dwell on it for too long. Thulung believes that there’s nothing you can’t tackle or get over if you are determined to make the best of your life. “As long as you are passionate and hard working, there’s nothing you can’t achieve,” she concludes.
