Phaplu air terminal operational after 11 years

SOLUKHUMBU, Dec 8: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) -- airlines regulator -- has brought a flight terminal building into operation at Phaplu airport after three years of maintenance works.



The terminal was damaged in a Maoist attack during the insurgency 11 years ago. [break]



Kedar Satyal, chief of CAAN´s Phaplu office, the terminal was renovated at the cost of Rs 10 million.



With the resumption of the terminal service, security personnel are also feeling comfortable to conduct security checks at the airport.
