Speaking at an interaction program organized by Reporters Club in Hotel Everest on Monday morning, Nepal stressed the need of accomplishing the peace process prior to resolving the disputes in constitution writing.[break]
He also claimed that once the task of peace process is completed; statute promulgation will not take long time. All the contentious issues remaining can be resolved after much deliberation and discussion among the leaders, he said.
Nepal was positive of completing the process of drafting the new constitution by May 28, if only the peace process is completed beforehand.
Nepal also opposed the idea of formation of the national consensus government under the leadership of Baburam Bhattarai.

He also said that the seven-point agreement should be implemented and there is no need of new agreements to be formulated.
He was also of opinion that all the cantonments should be evacuated and the task of integrating Maoist combatants should be completed soon.
Constitution cannot be promulgated under the shadow of guns, hence the process of vacating the cantonments should be completed soon, Nepal said.
Nepal also criticized the incumbent government of being irresponsible towards the twin tasks of constitution writing and peace process.
The leaders and political parties should exert pressure on the government to accomplish the tasks, Nepal added.
Let’s live in peace and embrace diversity
