Peace Corps closed down its office in Nepal on September 13, 2004, citing security reasons during the armed conflict period. It has begun its service in Nepal in 1962.
Talking to reporters at the Tribhuvan International Airport Wednesday after his return from US where he took part in the general meeting of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, Finance Minister Pun said the Peace Corps would resume its volunteer service in Nepal within the next two years.
