Speaking at an interaction organized by Reporters´ Club Nepal in the capital, Koirala said that party president Sushil Koirala himself would propose Paudel as the new prime ministerial candidate in the CWC meeting scheduled to begin from Thursday.[break]
"President has to focus his attention on the party. Party will be ruined if that did not happen," she said. She argued that since Sher Bahadur Deuba is the patron of the party, he too should concentrate his efforts toward strengthening the party. "Paudel is the most suitable candidate for prime minister," she said, adding that the NC should decide on the party´s prime ministerial candidate at the earliest.
Koirala also said that the party should push for election to seek fresh mandate of the people instead of calling for reinstatement of the dissolved parliament. Most of the district working committee presidents of the party during their national gathering held in Sindhupalchowk had argued that election was the best option to resolve the current political problem.
On the occasion, Koirala questioned the Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal´s intention, saying that he kept changing his statements frequently. "Prachandaji [Dahal] gives several self-contradictory statements in a single day," she said, referring to Dahal´s recent remarks that NC´s leadership of the new government won´t be acceptable to the Maoists.
