KATHMANDU, April 17:
An all party meeting held in Singha durbar on Sunday mandated Constitutional Committee’s Chairman Nilamber Acharya, Constituent Assembly’s Speaker Subhas Nembang and leaders from the three major political parties to solve the minority issue that has obstructed the CC meetings.

The CC meetings earlier have been disrupted by the lawmakers Biswendra Paswan, Sadrul Miya Haq and Rukmini Chaudhary alleging the major political parties of ignoring the fringe parties and not giving them enough time to speak during the meeting. [break]

They also demanded the rights of indigenous, Dalits and Muslim communities were guaranteed in the new constitution.

In the meeting, the issue relating to the extension of the term of the Sub Committee under the Constitutional Committee (CC) formed to resolve the dispute in the new Constitution was also discussed. Its term expired on April 14.

The meeting also held discussion whether to extend the term of the Constituent Assembly (CA) but failed to take any decision on the matter.

The CA’s term is expiring on May 28.
