KATHMANDU, Jan 21: The parliament secretariat has postponed Friday´s parliament meeting till Monday.

This is the fourth consecutive time the secretariat delayed the House meeting due to parties´ failure to draft the amendment proposal on parliamentary regulations relating to the prime ministerial election.

Failing to elect new prime minister even after conducting 16 rounds of voting in parliament over the last seven months, leaders from major political parties agreed to amend to the provisions with a view to make the election result-oriented.

Meanwhile, leaders at a meeting of three major parties Friday morning decided to urge President Dr Ram Baran Yadav to extend the deadline given by him for the parties to form new government based on consensus.
