Seven insurers—four life and three non-life—declare dividends

According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, four life insurers and three non-life insurers have announced their dividends as of Thursday.

KATHMANDU, Dec 19: Only one-fourth of the Nepali insurance companies have declared dividends to their shareholders from the profits of the last fiscal year.



According to the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), four life insurers and three non-life insurers have announced their dividends as of Thursday. There are 27 insurance companies, including 12 each in life and non-life categories and three micro insurers, have been listed at the NEPSE.

Among the life insurance companies, Nepal Life Insurance has declared 21.05 percent returns including five percent bonus shares. Citizen Life Insurance has proposed a 20 percent, while IME Life Insurance and Sanima Reliance Life Insurance have declared providing cash dividends of 10.53 percent and 10.18 percent, respectively, to their shareholders. These companies are yet to hold their annual general meetings.


Out of the non-life insurers, Siddhartha Premier Insurance has proposed to provide 25 percent and IGI Prudential Insurance is set to provide five percent cash dividends. Shikhar Insurance has announced to provide 6.32 percent return that includes six percent bonus shares.
