Police have arrested Basu Dev Gurung, a resident of Siddhartha municipality-13 in Rupandehi, for supplying the contraband drug to one of his friends in the police custody. Gurung had hidden a sachet of one gram brown sugar inside a piece of Samosa.[break]
The illicit drug was discovered when the police made Gurung eat a bite of Samosa. Gurung, who was earlier arrested by the police on the charge of his involvement in drug trafficking, was bailed out only a week ago. He said he bought brown sugar in Sunauli, an Indian town bordering Butwal.
Similarly, the police have arrested a woman, locally known as Bhola Musalman, on the charge of illegally importing Phensydil from Sunauli. She had brought eight liters of Phensydil hidden in two four-liter bottles of Pepsi.
