KATHMANDU, Oct 19: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that he will not give a statement if called by the Gauri Bahadur Karki-led investigation commission, which was formed to probe the physical and human losses during the September 8 and 9 Gen Z protest.
Speaking to editors on Sunday, the former prime minister made it clear that he would not appear before any such body for his statement. “KP Oli is honest, but commissions are formed everywhere he goes. Is it my job to go and give statements to whoever calls me?” Oli said.

Oli further remarked that he would not “deceive himself” by giving statements to what he implied were politically motivated commissions.
The Karki-led commission was formed by the interim government under Prime Minister Sushila Karki to investigate the violent incidents during the two-day youth-led protest that eventually led to the fall of the elected government.
