Pandey was forced to do so after the leaders close to Oli and Madhav Kumar Nepal took strong exception to some points in the proposal saying these points were made to damage the reputation of Oli. [break]
"The CC rejected the allegations and asked him to withdraw the proposal," said UML leader Pradip Gyawali. Pandey also made self-criticism for the allegations which came as a counter to the nine-point proposal registered by Oli.
On Tuesday, Pandey had registered a proposal with the party questioning the integrity of Oli and demanding action against him. The CC meeting saw heated debates and allegations against the party establishment and Oli-Nepal factions.
"I have pointed out his weaknesses and doubts that Oli has an alliance with invisible power centers," a leader quoted Pandey as saying.
In reply, Oli argued that the party rivals had been making baseless accusations against him. "He is asking how I am traveling in helicopters. If I could afford, I would travel even in a Boeing. I am accused of being a royalist; I am also the one to actively participate in the mass movement for a republic," a leader quoted Oli as saying.
Later, Khanal asked Pandey to delete personal accusations against Oli. In return, Pandey stated that he would do so if some of the points have been construed as personal accusations against Oli.
His proposal had came as a counter to Oli´s nine-point proposal, which accuses Chairman Jhalanath Khanal of taking moves against the party´s official decisions and failing to garner national consensus.
In the 11-point proposal, Pandey alleged that Oli was conducting activities on parallel with the party establishment, promoting factionalism, using financial resources from unknown sources, among others.
Pandey had also demanded disciplinary action against Oli for asking the party chairman´s resignation against the mandate of the general convention.
