NSU's pressure for constitution

KATHMANDU, April 19: The student wing of the ruling Nepali Congress, Nepal Students' Union, took out a cycle rally on the occasion of its 45th establishment day. The rally was also for a pressure to the Constituent Assembly members to bring the constitution on time.

Inaugurating the rally begun from Bhrikutimandap, Deputy Prime Minister and NC leader Prakash Man Singh said the NSU is an organization emerged out of struggle. He urged the NSU for its positive role on constitution writing efforts.


NSU Chairman Ranjit Karna said the people would not wait any more for constitution. If more pressure was needed, the NSU was ready to hit the streets, he added.

The rally went to Bhadrakali, Ratnapark and came back to Bhrikutimandap for conclusion.

With the initiative of leader Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, the NSU was set up under the chairmanship of Bipin Koirala on 19 April 1970. RSS
