NSJF to establish sports journalist welfare fund

KATHMANDU, April 19: Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) on Tuesday announced the Sports Journalists Welfare Fund.



NSJF president Niranjan Rajbanshi announced the fund during the inauguration ceremony of the seventh General Assembly held in Kathmandu. [break]



“The fund will have initial amount of Rs. 100,000,” Rajbanshi said adding that more amount would be added to the fund in future.



The General Assembly also elected councilors for the upcoming election of the Federation of Nepali Journalists. Those elected are Prakash Timilsina, Hemanta Raj Kafle, Dhruba Tuladhar, Roshan Singh Raut, Devendra Subedi, Pawan Acharya, Pramod Pokharel, Ritesh Rijal, Ajay Hamal and Ujjwal Acharya.



The Assembly also chose Ujjwal Acharya as the candidate for the associate member post in the FNJ Central Committee.



FNJ central committee member and the Kathmandu Valley co-ordinator Jagat Nepal, FNJ central member and NSJF first vice-president Ajay Phuyal addressed the assembly.
