“After hearing the political speeches yesterday (Tuesday) in front of my own office, I am convinced that I´m in right direction. I´m resisting people politicizing sports,” said Lama.
“I´ve appointed neither anyone from my party nor my relatives within the NSC. If anyone can prove any wrongdoing from my side, I´m ready to quit the post,” added Lama.
NSC staffers, coaches and players namely Ram Kumar Tharu, Deepak Shrestha, Narayan Dev Rana, Deepak Bista, Dhoj Man Moktan and Resham Lama delivered their speeches before Lama and said that they don´t want politics within sports.
“I´m sure that people politicizing sports could understand plea of these players and coaches. I think these speeches are more touching than the political babble,” said Member Secretary Lama.
Lama charged the former NSC board led by UML leader Jeevan Ram Shrestha of corruption. “Among the expenses of the Fifth National Game around Rs 10 million is arrears and I smell corruption there,” alleged Lama.
During the program, NSKA newly appointed President Dawa Gurung said that he is back in the governing body for the betterment of Karate. “The political threat given yesterday (Tuesday) by UML leaders has put a challenge in front of us to do better,” said Gurung.
NSC appointed Gurung as the President of NSKA reshuffling the committee chaired by Kedar Babu Siwakoti on Sunday.
