Prithvi Thapa, president of the federation, owned the attack and said it was just a symbolic one. "We had locked NOC office giving a six-point demand with an ultimatum on November 10. However, NOC turned deaf ear to our demands and forcefully opened the lock," said Thapa.
According to Thapa, they are demanding transparency within NOC. The federation is a faction split from Nepal Republican Sports Federation, a sister organization of UCPN (Maoists), last July. NOC condemned the attack and filed a case with the police.
"The so-called federation is a group of hooligans. They are neither registered under any state mechanism nor associated to any political party," said NOC General Secretary Jiwan Ram Shrestha.
