The agitating students demanded that college chairman Dr Gyanendraman Singh Karki tender his resignation. They also disrupted vehicular movement at Kanchanbari along Biratnagar-Dharan Highway for half an hour.

Dr Karki claimed the agitating students were enticed by Sunil Sharma, who has an equal stake in the college. He also claimed that a majority of students were in his favor.
The college was closed after Sharma deposited Rs 140 million collected from students in his personal account. An all-party meet to settle the issue has also failed to resolve the dispute.
