New gadgets galore at Samsung Mobile Expo

KATHMANDU, March 31: Many companies have used the Samsung Mobile Expo 2012 as a platform to launch new mobile sets and tablets.



Established companies like LG and Intex introduced new mobiles while new company X Age and Nepali Company Active have displayed new sets at the expo. Zeal enterprises have introduced Avatar Tablet while SG Global introduced Global tab. [break]



LG has introduced new sets T 515 at Rs 8,888, S365 at Rs 9,200 and C 375 at Rs 8,200 on the normal category and P698 at Rs 19,999 and E510 at Rs 24,999 with android operating system. Both the android sets are dual SIM phone sets.



According to Sunaina Rayamajhi, LG, showroom in-charge at Civil Mall most people at the expo were demanding low price hand set with more features. “Among our newly introduced set, T515-- a dual SIM mobile with multimedia feature is the most sellable one."



Biz International--authorized distributor of Intex Mobile phones for Nepal has introduced IN 8809 Projector phone priced at Rs 10,500 and IN 777 3G Gold set tagged Rs 7,990 in the Nepali market. The company provides 4 GB memory card free with the purchase of both the mobiles.







Shyam Baba Mobiles--sole distributor of X Age mobiles for Nepal has for the first time introduced different models of mobiles.



The company has launched low range mobiles like M882 Taal at Rs 3,350, M648 Ego at Rs 4,200, M621 Solid at Rs 3,850, 3M51 Dhoom-2 at Rs 3,575, M972i Dum at Rs 2,030, M855 Tune at Rs 3,750, M153i Fun at Rs 2,275 and M738 Speed at Rs 4,575. The company also provides 4 GB memory card free with the purchase of all hand sets except 972i Dum and 153i Fun.



Active Mobile which is fully assembled in Nepal and whose software is also installed in Nepal has introduced wide range of models ranging from Rs 1,320 to Rs 2,500 with 10 percent discount.



Global Tab has been the major attraction of the expo. The tab with features such as 7 inch display, 512 MB RAM, android 2.2 operating system, 4 GB memory card expandable up to 32 GB and priced at Rs 9,999 for the expo has received bookings for 60 units.



The company will take bookings for 250 units at the promotional price which will be delivered within 3 weeks of the completion of the expo. After selling 250 units, the price for the Global tab will be around Rs 14,000.
