Nepali journalists in Hongkong submits memo to PM

HONGKONG, June 15: Nepali journalists in Hongkong have demanded that action needs to be taken against the attackers who assaulted Republica correspondent Khilanath Dhakal.



Federation of Nepali Journalists in Hongkong, have submitted a memorandum to the office of the Consular General on Wednesday demanding an arrest of the culprits and bringing them to justice.[break]



They have demanded an investigation into the attack as well. The federation in the memorandum has condemned the attack and urged Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal for an in-depth investigation.



Youth Force, the youth wing of the Prime Minister´s party CPN-UML allegedly involved in the attack portrays threats looming over journalists and shows the vulnerability of the press, reads the memorandum.
