LUMBINI , Rupandehi, Oct 7: Nepali drivers have been compelled to return home country leaving their vehicles stranded after feeling insecure when the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) halted Nepal-India border at Belhiya on the backing of Indian side.

They came back to own country leaving their trucks and tankers stranded after the cadres of UDMF which has intensified border-based agitation manhandled some Nepali nationals in Indian land.

As many as 200 drivers who were queuing up their vehicles in Indian land returned Nepal with sense of insecurity. The Belhiya Area Police Office has informed that Nepali drivers in big numbers returned Nepal citing security reasons. "The vehicles and goods are not as much as important than our life", the drivers said.

According to Police Inspector at Belhiya Police Post Rabin Babu Regmi, the drivers coming back to Nepal had chanted slogans for some time. He further said the Belhiya point of Rupandehi has been stagnated for three days due to UDMF's agitation.

No vehicle has entered Nepal via the point till Sunday afternoon. RSS
