Nepali players clean swept medals in the 50 kg category. Sudan Rana bagged gold defeating Anup Nagarkoti in the final. Manjit Lama and Sujan Lama won bronze medals. In the 13-14 age group men´s singles kata, Prem Buda, Parshuram Gurung finished first and second respectively while Shankhar Bhandari and Namaraj Gurung jointly finished in third position. [break]
In men´s singles kata above 17 years, Jaman Singh Gurung and Bishal Tamang of Nepal won the gold and silver while Dhiroj Kodam of India and Manbahadur Bhurtel of Nepal settled for bronze medals.
Anjana Nepali clinched women´s singles 15-16 years age group kata coming ahead of Melina Pariyar of Nepal who finished second. Kirun Pathar and Prajata Dotar jointly finished for bronze.
In men´s U-12 singles kata, Nepal took home all three medals. Amar Lama and Bishal Chhetri came in top two places while Bhuwan Khatri and Sagar Neupane jointly finished third. In women´s same category, Dipa Vitrakoti and Kabit Sharma won gold and silver. Alisa Shrestha and Sagun Gurung secured bronze medals. All of them represent Nepal.
Nepal also won gold medals each in men´s and women´s team kata. Ritesh Shrestha, Kishor Bajracharya and Amrti Tamang´s team in men´s section and Melina Pariyar, Sagun Pariyar and Deepa clinched gold in women´s section.
Ragavi Acharya secured gold in men´s 7-8 year kumute defeating Sagun Paudel. Anup Karki and Sudhir Paudel took bronze medals. All of them are from Nepal.
On the same occasion, Deepak Shrestha, Dorje Lama, Tulsi Maharjan, Shyam Sherpa and BR Mitra were given letter of appreciation to honor their success in the AKF Coach Seminar held in Malaysia. Meanwhile NIma Sherpa and Yogesh Chamling were also honored for their success for passing AKF referee seminar.
Altogether 200 players including 182 from Nepal and 18 from India have participated in the championship. The tournament which features 33 gold medals will end on Sunday.
