Nepal to play int'l friendly against Malaysia on March 29

KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Nepal is set to play a friendly football match against Malaysia on March 29. The Football Association of Malaysia invited the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) for the friendly match, according the ANFA.

Nepali national team had claimed the Bangabandhu Gold Cup in Bangladesh in January. The U-23 team was also recently crowned champions in men's football during the South Asian Games in Guwahati, India. According to the ANFA, it will announce the preliminary squad for the friendly on first week of March.


Perisha wins school chess

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Perisha Tamrakar claimed the title of the Lalitpur School-level Chess Tournament on Tuesday. Perisha collected 6.5 points to win the title. She played draw against Pratham Rawal of Gyanodaya. Champion Perisha bagged Rs 20,000 as prize. Lalitpur District Chess Association and Lalitpur District Scout had jointly organized the event. Ranjit Yadav of Jugal Kishor School came second and Roshan Pun of Namuna Machhindra finished third. Altogether 70 school students took part in the competition.
