During this edition, Nepal reached the semifinal winning all the league matches while Bhutan had lost a match against the host Kuwait.Batting first Bhutan was restricted in just 53 runs off 20 overs losing six wickets. Nepal reached the target of 54 runs in just 17.2 overs losing five wickets. [break]
Nepal had opened the Championship with seven wickets victory over China. Kavita Gautam was the star of the match as she took three wickets for 11 runs and scored not out 25 runs off 32 balls with three boundaries.
Nepal defeated Malaysia 97 runs in the second match, which was the highest runs margin win by Nepal in the Women´s championship. Santoshi Kumari Chaudhary was the star of the match as she grabbed four wickets off five overs conceding 13 runs.
Nepal beat UAE by 68 runs in the third match of the Tournament. Sonu Khadka scored quick fire 30 runs off 20 balls and Indu Berma scored 32 runs in 41 balls. Skipper Rubina Chhetri grabbed four wickets off five overs conceding 15 runs. Nepali bowlers had conceded 33 runs extra in the match.
Berma´s not out 40 runs off 53 balls guided Nepal to a four wickets victory over Thailand in the last match of the league. Nepal had improved its bowling department in the match but were not able to bat well. Some of the batters were out on duck and some could not make runs of their bat.
Bhutan had only lost a match in the league round but registered two wins. Butan had defeated Qatar by eight wickets and registered 69 runs win over Hong Kong.
Nepali Coach Nabin Singh said that the team will give its full power to win the match.
“Tomorrows main is the toss, If we win the toss we will bat and score more than 130 and if we are requested to bowl first after losing the toss we will try to restrict Bhutan in low score.”
Coach said that he has not been able to watch the match of Bhutan but knows about them by their scorecard. “They lack in batting and their bowling is also not on par.”
