Nepal-S Korea to sign pact on infrastructure development

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Nepal and South Korea have principally agreed to sign a pact on mutual cooperation for infrastructure development.



Six-member Nepali delegation led by the Minister for Physical Planning, Works and Transport Management (MoPPTM) Hridayesh Tripathi had held discussion with Kwon Do-Youp , Korean Minister for Land, Transport and Marine Affairs on enhancing mutual cooperation in the field of infrastructure development in Nepal, says a press statement issued by Nepali Embassy in Seoul on Tuesday. During the meeting Nepali delegation sought Korean support for the development of transport infrastructure and sharing of technology in railway, metro and tunnel construction.



On the occasion, minister Tripathi urged the Korean side to encourage potential Korean investors to invest in Nepal. Korean side also assured of support to Nepal in the development of infrastructure and providing training to Nepali officials at Railway Research Center in Korea.
