"I'm trying to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Upadhyaya told Republica from Delhi on Monday evening. Upadhyaya had held a meeting with India's Union Home minister Rajnath Singh earlier on the day.Upadhyaya's delegation met and discussed Indian blockade with officials from India's Foreign Ministry. He informed the Indian side about the confusion in Nepal as there were signs of continuing blockade in Nepal although India had announced lifting of the resctrictions on cross-border movement of vehicles.
He also met with officials from the ministry of external affairs to request resumption of supply of petroleum products to Nepal. Upadhyaya informed about the impact of lack of petroleum products in Nepali market and its toll on Nepal's economy on the eve of Dashain festival.
Earlier, Ambassador Upadhyaya had informed that India was going to ease supply of petroleum products by Saturday.
"Nepal government will take care of the security if India supplies the fuel," Upadhyaya conveyed the message to the Indian side. Indian officials said they were ready to ease the flow of goods to Nepal.
